Comment section for buttons

Postby Keylonta » Mon Nov 09, 2015 5:11 am

I'd like to request a comment field for a future update, maybe below the Script Event field on the "Customize" tab.

I have so many scripts, I need a comment section so I can write what each scripts does. This way I'll be able to know what each button does. At the moment the only info available is the button name and key and script events etc. I'd like to be able to describe exactly what an individual button does.

For instance, for each profile I usually have the colored teletext buttons do various things, for example, I have a script like this:

MouseMove(1108, 1079, 0)
MouseMove(1111, 1079, 1)
MouseMove(1111, 989, 0)
MouseClick("left" 1111, 989, 2, 0)
MouseMove(1111, 1079, 0)

It switches the iTunes audio from 2.0 to 5.1. Would be great if I could write a description like "Audio" in a comment field.

You can just put a comment right in the script... just use a semicolon on the start a line... example...

Code: Select all
;switch iTunes Audio from 2.0 to 5.1
MouseMove(1108, 1079, 0)
MouseMove(1111, 1079, 1)
MouseMove(1111, 989, 0)
MouseClick("left" 1111, 989, 2, 0)
MouseMove(1111, 1079, 0)

Thanks for that. I still would like to be able to make a note for what the key event shortcut does. For example a button for a profile might have a key event = ctr+alt+F. I'd like to know exactly what that shortcut does without having to try and remember what all the different shortcuts for the different programs are and what buttons I've assigned them to.

I've just realized that I can write a description for a key event in the button name field.

I was going to suggest that. Just call the button whatever you wanted.
