Script Event v Key Event

Postby justinhow » Thu Jan 21, 2016 7:35 am

I am pretty new to IntelliRemote and noticed that when sending a key press from IntelliRemote you often can either use a Script Event [e.g. Send("{DOWN}",0)] or use a Key Event

I wondered whether there were any reasons to use one over the other?

None. The only reason to use a Script Event is if you possible wanted to do more than 1 action with the button push. Say you wanted to press D then wait 1 second then press H. You would do something like

Code: Select all
Send("D",0)
Sleep(1000)
Send("H",0)

But if you only need 1 keystrok like CTRL+ALT+D then a KeyEvent is fine. It was just a more visusal friendly way of creating a key event for users who don't need the scripting.
