Virustotal.com : False Positive?

Postby toby_m » Sat Jun 24, 2017 10:48 pm

Hi there, I've been looking for a program to use an old-school Firefly remote with Plex on Windows and was very happy to find your solution, however before installing anything I always run it through Virustotal, which flagged the installer as malware.

While it looks likely that based on the detection ratio it's a false positive, I wanted to confirm first for myself and give you a heads-up as it could have an impact from a perception perspective.

Here's the scan:

Feedback welcome, thanks!

Yep it is a false positive. I have reported it to them before but since I use encryption in my EXE to try and prevent people from hacking it and stealing it some of the virus scanners think its malware!
