Hi. I have been using Winamp and KM Player for playing mp3 files. I recently came across Shareaza 8 (music player owned by Discordia that allows you to download songs from their online shop). http://www.shareaza.com/
Note that it is different from Shareaza 2 (the peer-to-peer software)
I am pleasantly surprised that such an unknown software can do a better job than Winamp and KM Player in decoding mp3 files. The sound is clearer and the bass is tighter. It's decoder is based around the excellent MPADEC decoder. http://wiki.hydrogenaudio.org/index.php ... P3_Decoderhttp://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums//lo ... 35054.html
Also the library is better than Winamp or KMPlayer. It is very simple and efficient. To the left of the screen, you get the Itunes type Library (your songs can be rearranged by name, album, play count, bitrate,....) and to the right you have the Now Playing section where you can play your playlists....
If you want the best quality sound, I would suggest giving the program a try.
The only thing lacking is the lack of multimedia keyboard key support and the lack of support for using a remote control.
I lack the knowledge to create a remote control profile for it and am hoping someone can create one or may be someone can suggest if it's possible to use the existing profile of a different software for Shareaza 8?
