You shouldn't use the one from our website, that is older and before it was made part of the normal plugins of EG.

I just downloaded

http://www.eventghost.org/downloads/Eve ... _Setup.exe

Ran it first time and loaded the EventGhost plugin and it loaded properly.

Just did the same...
Uninstall, install from your link, then "Configuration->Add Plugin->EventPhone Remote->OK"...
And got the same error:

OK So I just tried it on my other machine here which is a Windows 7 x64 machine and same thing. Installed the latest EG and the Plugin loaded and worked first time. So now I have tried it on 2 machines one Windows 7 x32 and now a Windows 7 x64 both with success.

The only thing I can think of is something is corrupt on your system or somehow your Python version is messed up?

have you tried this fresh on another PC just to test it? if it works then you know it is something isolated to your PC.

Also, i have other troubles with EG, f.e. it loads with this log:

---> Welcome to EventGhost <---
Autostart
Plugin: X10: Generic X10
Error starting plugin: X10 Remote
No X10 receiver found!

Plugin: Zoom Player
Plugin: Winamp
Plugin: Task Create/Switch Events
Enable exclusive: Keyboard Emulation

And, f.e. when i click 'Help->About EventGhost...' it logs
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Classes\MainFrame\__init__.py", line 344, in FuncWrapper
func()
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Utils.py", line 176, in Wrapper
eg.Tasklet(func)(*args, **kwargs).run()
TaskletExit

and nothing else happens.. :(

When i choose File->Options and then i can do nothing with modal window, pressing Ok or Cancel gives me goddamned errors again:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Classes\ButtonRow.py", line 108, in OnOK
self.parent.OnOK(event)
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Classes\TaskletDialog.py", line 161, in OnOK
self.DispatchEvent(event, wx.ID_OK)
File "C:\Program Files\EventGhost\eg\Classes\TaskletDialog.py", line 122, in DispatchEvent
self.__processingChannel.send(wx.ID_OK)
TaskletExit

I guess Python is automatically installed by EG installation, isn't it? How i can check Python version or reinstall it?

btw, nice posts count :)

I get the same error when I do Help->About. I have never seen EventGhost this buggy and I think the original developer BitMonster has abandoned the project.

I think the project is being taken over based on this post on their forums...

http://www.eventghost.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2341

Since the owner has abandoned the project it looks like this version contains bugfixes since Feb 2010.

http://www.satori-project.com/eventghost

Download and try that version.
