Can't Connect to iPhone 4, no (null)

Postby jj483 » Tue Sep 13, 2011 3:35 am

I have disabled windows firewall, windows defender, and the firewall on my router. netstat -a shows "TCP 0.0.0.0:1025 Listening". The Password and Port are the same in EventPhone and EventGhost. I have a static ID that I input correctly in Eventphone. Both iphone and PC are connected to the same wifi, yet I get "Server disconnected. Check host 192.168.XX.XXX and port 1025 are correct" when trying to run the app.

Windows 7 64 bit
Eventghost 0.4.1.r.1534
Eventphone version (Eventghost 4.1)

Any Ideas :?:

ah yes do to a bug in iPhone 4 settings.

1. Go into EventPhone settings

2. Change Port from 1025 to 1026.

3. Exit Settings.

4. Go back into settings and change 1026 back to 1025 and now try EventPhone.

Does that work?

No not change your router port go into the iPhone EventPhone settings and change the port from 1025 to 1026 and Exit the Settings application. Go back into the Settings application and change it from 1026 to 1025 all on your iPHone/Ipod.

Then try the app again.

Yea, I tried that.

This is possibly an issue with my iphone. I have discovered that I can't connect to itunes with my (apple) itunes remote either. itunes recognizes the i :( phone but the passcode won't go through. I don't understand, it has worked before. I can connect to the network with no problem and my PC recognizes my iphone but apparently no communication occurs.
I can't seem to find a solution that works. :(

Well the network port NULL issue is weird. Do me a favor. Double click the HOME button which brings up a list of running apps. Then find eventPhone in the list and press and hold it til you get the delete icon to remove it from running.

Then restart it. It might not be picking up your change because the in memory one is still running.

My original post was confusing  . In January, Christian posted "Can't Connect to IPhone 4". The port was "Null" in the error message that Christian recieved. I was attempting to post that I have the same problem but there is NO "Null" in the error message.
My error message identifies the port correctly.- "Server disconnected. Check host 192.168.XX.XXX and port 1025 are correct."
Sorry for the confusion.

OHHH, yes the Port NULL problem is different.

So for yours you know the iPhone has the right info. The next step is figuring out why it can't get to 1025 on your PC. You should download a Telnet client for your iPhone and try and telnet to your PC on port 1025. If that doesn't work either then you know you still have a communication problem between your iPhone and your PC. Whether it be firewall, network, router etc.

And you are sure you are using EventGhost 0.4.1 with the EventPhone plugin configure and running?

Next thing is to make sure you see port 1025 listening like in Step 2 here...

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6401

Can you verify?

Let's make sure you PC is listening first.
