Help connecting CM17 with USB to DB9

Postby noidios » Sat Jan 17, 2015 7:48 pm

I've been messing with this for a couple of days and feel that I'm getting really close. Any tips?

Ahhh so the CM17 since its serial device you are using a serial to USB connector right?

I have found that sometimes depending on this USB connector the code we use to talk serial port to the CM17 can not work.

One way to test is forget the mobile client, simply right click on the tray icon and choose to try and turn a Device ON or OFF with the menu option. That takes the mobile client out of the picture. Does that work?

Because it looks like from your log the mobile client is connecting fine, it is the CM17 that is not communicating to your X10 network?

It does not work - even when bypassing the mobile client. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and spend the big money on a true USB version. Thanks for the help.

Sorry about that! The Cm17's are hit and miss with these USB-To-Serial translators.
