[SOLVED] A few bugs

Postby aarondrabeck » Wed Feb 09, 2011 1:54 am

First I want to say great work with the ZWave Commander. I look forward to implementing creative ways to use it.

A few bugs I have noticed...

1. When you connect to the server simultaneously with 2 phones all devices are duplicated. A quick refresh resolves. I am sure it will be simple to fix this, you just need to refresh the array or similar when you receive the device list on each device.

2. You need to add the choice of which adapter to connect with on startup. I have multiple VMWare adapters and wireless and I have to disable them on startup or else Zwave Commander gets an IP from VMware rather than my Gigabit adapter.

Out of curiosity, what type of encryption are you using on your TCP socket connection. I have this port opened up and would like to know what risk I am running. Is the password sent in plain text? I have not captured the packets yet but plan to.

Thanks!

1. I think I fixed this can you try this BETA?

http://melloware.biz/download/warez/zwave-server-beta.zip

2. I actually only diplay the IP of the first adapter I grab but I don't think that affects what IP address can find 6004. So if you have 3 IP addresses even though I am displaying the incorrect one I believe it still works as long as you have the correct one entered in the mobile device. Can you try that?

3. The socket is unencrypted BUT...the password is encrypted, and ANY command sent to the socket that is unknown you get immediately disconnected. So if anyone is trying to sniff your port they will get bounced. You can try it for yourself by using telnet to port 6004 and try and do anything.

2. You are correct! I should have looked at the log, it shows how it is listening on all adapters.

OK try this version 2.4.2.4.

http://melloware.biz/download/warez/zwave-server-beta.zip

I just ran it here locally and it seems to be OK with no crashing but let me know if it crashes.
