[SOLVED] ThinkStick and ZC with Toshiba Thrive Tablet

Postby rafaelkoreia » Fri Jul 08, 2011 2:47 pm

Hi guys,

I am about to buy a Toshiba Thrive Tablet that comes with USB support and a full usb port.
I would like to know if there is a way of connecting the ThinkStick to it and use the ZWave Commander to control my devices by RF. I would like to use the tablet as a secondary controller but using RF signal instead of WiFi.

Is there any way of doing something like that or I have to use a common RF controller.

Thank you very much!

Unfortunately there is no way to do what you want to do.

You will need a common RF Controller.

Now some day in the future what you want to do may be possible but probably not with the ThinkStick since it is proprietary and locked down. But I understand Google is working on a whole home automation system all based on Android including the hardware.

Well, so I guess I will have to wait to see if the android@home fits my needs.
