Tray Icon Functionality in Linux - 4.1.0-30

Postby TopGear » Tue Jan 09, 2007 11:16 am

- Just updated to the new version for Linux and I love that there is a tray Icon now however it only seems to show me the current status and when I mouse over it it shows what song is playing but I am unable to use the Stop, Play or Pause functionality. Maybe its something I'm doing wrong or maybe its a bug.

Yes it will be fixed in the next version where you can right click on it and get a menu.

You should be able to single click to Pause/Play?

And Middle mouse button on the Icon should skip to next track?

Does that not work either?

I can't get any of the three buttons to do anything when I click on the Icon. The Icon will show me if its Stopped or Playing and will show me a tool tip for what Song is playing. I am pretty sure I tested all three buttons, I will verify again tomorrow when I get into work and on another machine running the same version.

I tested on Suse Linux 10 using KDE and it worked.

Can you give me details of Linux version and which Desktop you are using? Gnome or KDE? It could be a Linux version difference.

Gnome on Centos 4.4, I think I still have KDE loaded on that desktop so I can try that at work tomorrow too.

OK great. And I will have a new beta for you to try soon that has the right click menu on the Linux tray icon (or should in theory).

Let me know how your work machine fairs tomorrow.

I was wrong, I was just being impaitient. Since I have the Fade In/Out on and was listening at a low volume I wasn't paying enough attention.

- Left Mouse click does Play/Pause
- Middle Mouse Click Skips to next song.
- Right Mouse click seems to have no affect.

OK 4.1.0.31 has been released. It should fix most if not all the Linux tray icon problems.
