Icons used in intelliphone

Postby amadsen » Tue Jul 28, 2009 7:47 am

Hi,

I am very satisfied with the functionality in intelliphone - haven’t used it yet, but the specs looks great! Currently I am using SageTV, and want to use Intelliphone. BUT I don’t think the user interface of intelliphone has the right “apple touch and feel”.

Of cause this is a personal opinion, but do you have any releases/interface coming up?

I used an icon set that I had copyright permission to use. It might not have the Apple look and feel but it's cheaper than paying for an expensive icon set or to pay someone to design custom icons!

Maybe there is someone out there, with the right skills, eager to help design the buttons?
But of cause the financial foundations has to be there (but I would gladly pay the double to get the correct apple touch!)

I haven't had anyone come forward yet offering to design an icon set but I would gladly take anyone up on any offers! I have NO artistic ability in Photoshop at all....I am all left brain and can't even draw stick figures!

I'll take this on for you.

I actually already started to create all original buttons/layouts to match the look of iPhone/WMC 7 this weekend.

I was going to use CommandFusion to create an interface, but if you like the icons/layouts once I'm done, I'll give them to you and any rights to use them in your application.

PS I love your application!

That would be awesome. When you are done feel free to send them to me.

The resolution I use on the Portrait Screen is 32x32 images and on the Landscape screen is 64x64.

M,

I haven't forgotten about my commitment to drum up some pretty GUI candy, just been swamped with work.

My intent is to use CommandFusion to really get the layout I want, but before I do that I'm doing a basic re-skin of your current app, so I can use Intelliphone while I'm building the CommandFusion version.

My approach is to make it all feel a bit more natively iPhone.

With that said, I've made allot more progress than I'm showing here, but I wanted to tease with some images, so I can get feedback on the basic re-skin.

Keep in mind, this is all WORK IN PROGRESS.

This looks really good. I like the Mouse and Keyboard screens a lot. Cleaner than the current, more iPhone like.

What file formats do you want these in when I'm done?

And do you have any notes? I'll try to finish this weekend.

Everything I do is in 32x32 PNG and 64x64 PNG for the landscape. As for notes I like everything so far just need to finish those last images that were missing.

I probably won't use your tabs at the bottom and keep the keyboard and profile buttons in the lower left corner. I think too many users are hooked on that feature of knowing their profile and being able to switch it.

OK, so here are the final images.

I just have to optimize the images and break them apart for you.

Regarding the profile button, I hadn't denoted it in the last update, but the functionality is still there.
My reasoning for the icons across the bottom are for quick access to the different input types.

I've also added a Keypad screen for my own use, cause it's a hassle having to switch the keyboard to numbers to enter numbers quickly.

In any case, I'd love any feedback before I optimize the images and break them apart for you.

This looks kickass. The only tricky part will be the bottom of the screen. on the Portrait mode but I will see what I can do.
