V 1.5 Submitted to AppStore

Postby Melloware » Sun Oct 03, 2010 11:19 am

It appears OS 4 completely broke BlueSocket Authenticator. I have made the bug fixes to get it working on OS4 and submitted the changes to Apple.

Seems that this revision requires iOS 4, which breaks it for ipad. Not much to be done, if the fix you introduced requires 4.x to work, but I figured you should know because it is causing iTunes to complain when I attempt to sync my ipad. Hopefully 4.2 is just around the corner.

That was my idea was the iPad is supposed to get OS4 any day now. Shouldn't be too much longer!

Got any ideas about the release date of V 1.5?
Some guy at my university is using Firesheep and that really piss*s me off because I had to change all my passwords
So it would be really cool if I could buy BlueSocket Authenticator to be able to use the protected wifi my university offers.
There seems to be no other tool or possibility to get the protected wifi to work with my iPad or iPhone :(

Unfortunately I pulled it from the AppStore again because of problems people were having with OS 4.

Hm, that's some bad news :(
I'm trying to get my iPhone to work with the BlueSocket now with the iPhone Configuration Utility by Apple but I don't know if that's gonna work...
Well, we'll see

Unfortunately I no longer work at a company that uses Bluesocket so I have no way to test the app changes and I am really hesitant to keep publishing software I can't do quality assurance on myself. I hope you understand.

I sure do :)
If you want to do a good app, you have to do it right which includes testing.
But it's a pity for "the rest of us" who still have to deal with BlueSocket...

Anyway, my experiment with the iPhone Configuration Tool was a big success. It works like a charm. No problems by now.
If somebody's interestet in the how-to, I'll post my steps if that's ok for you?! :)
