Intelliremote + Windows 8.1 U1 x64 screen saver issue

Postby markm75 » Sat Feb 14, 2015 11:15 pm

I'm running of Intelliremote.. I seem to have an issue i dont recall having in the past..

I have a screensaver set in windows 8.1 u1 x64.. i used to be able to push an arrow on the remote and kill the screen saver via intelliremote, at least with windows 7..

I cant seem to do this anymore (thinking maybe its secure desktop related)..

I look at intelliremote.. i see that the commands are recognized and some of my scripts even fire, like if i fire up media center with the remote, but the screen saver keeps going.

Any thoughts on a workaround here?

Thanks in advance

I wouldn't doubt if in windows 8 this is some kind of security feature they added. I have not tested it yet but theoretically executing a KEY EVENT in Intelliremote should be identical to pressing a button on your keyboard to stop the screen save but MSFT can always code it to know a virtual keystroke from a hardware keystroke.
