I have heard Boxee is actually XBMC under the covers and that the XBMC profile works with Boxee. I don't know much about either but if someone wants to make a Boxee profile I certainly would add it to the collection!

This should be easy to create. I don't use Real Player. Which exact Real Player software do you use? Can you send me a link to it?

seconded - for the default free player currently available at real.com.
real player SP v 1.0.5
with default intelliremote profile & my cyberlink remote, nothing seems to work except for STOP. there is no facility in program to customise any key bindings & no documentation of keyboard shortcuts - but here are some underlined letters on the PLAY tab suggesting alt key combinations might work for slo , fast, etc.

I don't use it much, but occasionally I need to play a.rm file and other players like Zoom, VLC have never really emulated theREAL codecs working - typically it either does not work, or there is no sound, or picture is blocky & workd badly on seek / fast forward. ( I think the actual REAL codecs are copyright protected and 3rd party payers are not allowed to use them )

I think you are right. And I could not find any information like you about keyboard shortcuts or hot keys or anything like that. Having to use the menu options kinda sucks too because you have to bring up the context menu first before you send ALT+P to execute the Play menu option.

thanks for looking. After posting, I re-ran the Zoom player install centre and once it notice that I had re-installed real player with it's codecs on the PC, then it offered to install some filters n stuff that enable the .rm files to play OK in ZP.

so I am happy to use Zoom as my default player for *.rm.

TIp for anyone else installing latest free real player - the installer crashed several times until I realised that PeerBlock was preventing it accessing the real servers.
With peerblock disabled it installed OK

This is Dvbviewer profile,

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WCMKXT9W ( LINK1)

And shorcut key for Dvbviewer: ( LINK2)

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2HG7S27V

For this profile to be fully working to this: Start Dvbviewer, go to SETTINGS, INPUT, click IMPORT, and IMPORT my shorcuts from link2.
You need to to that because BY DEFAULT some of shorcuts key in Dvbviewer is blank, with no key set.

This profile is DEFAULT one find in Intelliremote but modify with script ControlSend.

How to download from Megaupload? click on that link, in the right screen an box appear with 2-3 letters, introduce that letters into the box, click on Download, wait 1 minute and click on Regular Download.

I have added all 3 profiles to the next installer. I will also put them in profiles.zip on the Downloads page. Thanks!

how about
Firefox
windows explorer
jdownloader
utorrent

am i missing something?

i cant find a guide that shows me the names given in the profile with arrows pointing to the button on the remote. there should also be a picture just like the previous one but with no names so that i could wright in what i made that button do, a cheat sheet. that would help me learn all of the new commands on the remote.

If you create them I would be more than happy to add them to profiles.zip and the installer.

Ahh this is because "which remote". How can I show a guide of remote buttons mapped to an image when Intelliremote supports over 80 hardware remotes that all have different buttons and look nothing alike as well as iPhone and Android clients etc. So do you mean a picture of the MCE Remote? X10 remote? Creative Remote? iPhone? Android?

which remote? every remote that you have a profile for should have a picture of the layout. the profiles are not much use without it. pictures of remotes would make it much easier for new users to set up the software.

also, application profiles should be tied to a specific remote with a picture of the assigned buttons. i have not figured out the use for application profiles without a map that explains them. it would be much better to have a text file with the essential scripts and a brief description of what they do. add that to the picture of a remote and it would be easy to copy/paste the commands to the buttons you wanted.

this is great software and i know it will be essential to getting the most out of my HTPC but it is a real pain for a new user to set up. a few brief tutorials would help greatly and I'm sure would also help sell more copies.

Gotcha. The tricky part is a default profile supports the most popular remotes right our the box with no changes. You happen to own a "non-standard" remote which requires custom mapping.

But out of the box all Intelliremote profiles support these remotes...(when you say New Profile and get a default profile).

MCE Remote (most popular remote by Microsoft as well as a few clones like the Pinnacle MCE)
Creative Remote (been around since 2000 was one of the popular first remotes around about 7 different Creative Remotes in all)
X10 Remotes (all kinds and flavors like Remote Wonder and Remote Wonder+ about 15 different X10 based remotes in all)
iPhone Remote
Android Remote

These remotes cover 90% of the remotes in use for Intelliremote. The last 10 % are like your remote that need to be custom mapped. I use the 80/20 rule in software development.... in this case its a 90/10 rule.

So you see how would I draw a picture of that when a single profile actually supports many remotes completely. It just does not happen to support your remote by default out of the box.
