[SOLVED] X10 Commander App and IOS 8.1

Postby glenns » Sat Dec 20, 2014 1:34 pm

I'm running IOS 8.1 on both my iPhone and IPAD with the X10 Commander app, when I open the app on either the app says disconnected and freezes, I never get a tab or option for settings to enter my IP address nor can I navigate anywhere on the screen, Commander on the PC runs fine and I can control lights from there as you can see from the log file below.

OK so go into the Settings app on your iOS device like where you would configure your email or you Wifi Network. Scroll to the bottom you and will see third party apps of which X10 Commander is one of them.

There is where you set your IP Address of your PC running X10 Commander and from your log file above it would be "10.1.4.105".

Try that and let me know how it goes? The default IP is 192.168.1.100 in the settings so I am wondering since your network is 10. the program is hanging trying to resolve 192. which doesn't even exist on your network!

I have IOS 8.1 on my iPhone and use a MAC with 10.8.5 and 10.10.1. Can I use your software with a Powerlinc V2 2414U?

The only software that supports our app for the Mac OSX is from ThinkingHome...

http://alwaysthinking.com/thinkingHome.html

It is a very nice app but you might want to direct your Powerlinc question to them to see if their app supports it.

It looks like ThinkingHome does support your PowerLinc from this screenshot...
