Thats great I didn't realize that ZVirtualScenes could replace ZWave Commander. I still need BinaryType Switch support in ZVirtualScenes as I have CFL lights hooked up to Zwave appliance modules that I would like to include in scenes.

Just write a defect on the Issues page of the ZVirtualScenes Google Code page. I am sure it is something the developer can fix!

Hi Guys,

Just as a FYI to those who are interested, I have created a forum for ZVirtualScenes here: http://groups.google.com/group/zvirtualscenes-forums

This link can also be found on the project home page, http://code.google.com/p/zvirtualscenes/.

For those of you that don't know, ZVirtualScenes is a alternative to zCommander that allows for highly customizable scenes, alerting, and more. You still can use LightSwitch (client) to connect to ZVirtualScenes (server) from your iPhone or Android device.

ZVirtualScenes
Image

  • Take FULL control of your ZWave Compatible Device in a simple GUI interface.
  • ZVirtualScenes monitors your ZWave devices for state changes and can send notifications to Jabber/Google Talk. For example, get notified via Instant Message if the temperature drops below a customizable limit. Get notified when a switch level changes or a thermostat is turned on.
  • Control your ZWave devices from your smart phone (Android and IPhone).
  • Easily create custom scenes controlling thermostats, switches and more in one simple action. Activate them via your Smartphone, HTTP or GUI.
  • Easily add non-ZWave actions to your scenes such as launch an EXE or BAT file.
  • zVirtualScenes can accept and respond to commands via the HTTP Interface.
  • Fully tested with Trane ZWave Remote Energy Management Thermostat.

zVirtualScenes is a certified LightSwitch server written in Visual C# using .NET Framework 4.0.

hi, I need your help.
ZCommander on my ipod touch can't connect to zVirtualScenes(v1.4.2.11) while it can connect to ZCommander server.
I've set the port and password correctly both zVirtualScenes and zWave Commander.
.net framework 4 installed.
My USB Stick's Part No is CTZUS-1US(v4.30).
win7 os X86.
But my Ipod touch shows me endless freshing(refreshing icon on status bar).
Please, reply me if see this. Appreciate !

Try this:

Download the latest version: http://code.google.com/p/zvirtualscenes ... _build.zip

Start the program and go to Settings-->LightSwitch and Enable Verbose Mode. Click the Save Settings Button.

Then try to connect with your iPad. Then close the app and send or copy and paste the .log file here (created on exit in the directory the .exe is in).

Sorry for the delayed response.

It seems as though your problem might be permissions. Are you running zvs as Administrator?

I know zvs works in Win7 32 and 64 bit as I develop the app in this environment. You will have to disable UAC or run as administrator however.

Also grab the latest version from zvs's website as I have made some optimizations for larger networks such as yours.

I believe this was due to Admin privileges as it works OK for me. I now have a different issue:

Hello.

Sorry but i dont follow all this. I have a LightManager Pro+- So to be able to use scenes on Lightswitch on my android phone i would have to buy another device? My Ligthmanager pro+ is connected to my server at all time which runs 24/7. Isnt there any way for me to install another software on the server so i can be able to run scenes in the app?

Thank you.

Hello.

Sorry but i dont think om following this that much. I have Lightmanager Pro+ that is connected to my server that is on 24/7. Which again is connected to my network.
Is it so that i really need to buy another part to be able to have scene controll? Or is there something i can install and run on my server instead?

Thanks.

I think you should contact Lightmanager Pro about how they do scenes. They support our API so if they support scenes it should just work.
