Capturing Dash/Hyphen/Minus issue

Postby bobbydams » Wed Jan 11, 2012 5:22 am

I have been trying to capture the dash/hyphen/minus (the character below the underscore) without any success. I can capture any other key with no problem. So I am not sure why this one would be any different. I have tried the following combinations with no success

JIntellitype.getInstance().registerHotKey(81, "minus");
JIntellitype.getInstance().registerHotKey(82, 0, 109);

I even saw a different ASCII code listed for the hyphen (45) and tried that as well

JIntellitype.getInstance().registerHotKey(82, 0, 45);

Any help would be appreciated! :D

I couldn´t get it to work either, but perhaps this might help a little bit: ... itype.html

There is a "subtract" defined, but for me this only works with the minus from the numpad (just like "minus" does).
You will have to find the correct java.awt.event.KeyEvent and then have it added to JIntellitype.

Yep some of the characters we have found are not Hot keyable due to some limitation in MSFT API and some we have found it has been finding the right Virtual Key Code in the MS Documentation.

Have you tried 189 also?
